Dr Karthik Kumar

Dr Karthik Kumar has been a Physician (Renal Medicine) at Gosford Private Hospital since 2010. He has a particular interest in Reno Vascular Disease and interventional Nephrology.

Dr Kumar is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians specialising in Nephrology. Trained as a renal and transplant specialist in Australia (Westmead and Gosford Hospital) and India (Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh), Dr Kumar is currently working as a Renal and Hypertension Specialist at Gosford, Wyong, Gosford Private and Sydney Adventist Hospitals.

He is a Member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology, and a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Newcastle. Dr Kumar has contributed to
the CARI (Caring for Australasians with Renal Impairment) guidelines in the areas of peritoneal dialysis and renovascular hypertension.

Dr Kumar is also actively involved in clinical research in the areas of polycystic kidney disease, haemolytic-uraemic syndrome and peritoneal dialysis.
